Racing 100 miles an hour, or what felt like it at seven years old across an open field, it was just me and my pony. I had never before experienced such a feeling of freedom. Thus began my love affair with horses.

Originally from Saskatchewan, I grew up on a farm and then we made our way to BC, then came to Alberta to start my post-secondary education. At the University of Alberta Faculte Saint Jean, I studied French, which put me on my path for a job with Edmonton Airports. Working for the Airport Authority, I received a very good Customer Service base as well as Purchasing & Inventory Control background.

I met my husband, Chris, in the fall of 1998 and moved to Norman Wells in the spring of 1999. Here I received an Administrative background and a deeper understanding of the flow of paper in an office. A short time after living in Norman Wells, we moved back and settled in the Edmonton area on a 5 acre parcel of land west of the city.

With the birth of our first daughter, Cassidy, another change was in the wind. I wanted to start a home based business so that I could be an active part in my daughter's upbringing. I started looking into Alpacas and researching the animals as well as the products that could be produced with the fine fibre. Alas, knowing that a breeding program would take many years to be successful, I was looking for something that would be immediately marketable. I managed to find a supplier and started travelling and doing Trade Shows throughout Alberta. This still remains a very important part of King's Korner.

With the birth of our second daughter, Chelsey, again it was time to change direction, as I found I was travelling too much and not having the home time I desired. Thus, Kings Korner Equestrian Center started to take shape. We settled in August 2009, and one year later we started working on the stable area.

Horses are magnificent animals who offer beauty, elegance, and power. They have as diverse personalities as humans and must be treated as such to reach their true potential. Once this is understood, watch both horse and rider excel and become an amazing and unstoppable team. Isn't it interesting how life's events seem to lead you in a direction even though, at the time, you don't know what the end destination is. I am enjoying every moment of this opportunity and all of the growing and growing pains that come along with it.
